What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers/ Laborers position at Delta Farms?
This is a description for Cabbage, Corn, Grass seed, Strawberries, Raspberries, Winter Squash, Pumpkins, and Broccoli.
Hand harvesting and picking of crops will consist of harvesting vegetables according to grade, color and size by tying in bunches or loading in containers. Produce is grasped with the hands (knife may be used) and removed from the plant in a motion so as not to harm adjacent vegetables. Produce is picked and placed into a crate. Worker examines harvested produce in boxes and sorts out any vegetables not meeting the grade, color and size specifications. Worker will carry crate/box of up to 60 lbs. (Weight 50lbs or more - assistance allowed) to trailer. Care must be exercised at all times to prevent bruising or breaking of plants/produce.
