Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Accounting and Finance to lead our financial operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and balance sheet management.
- Lead the preparation and interpretation of complex financial reports, including profit & loss statements, cash flow analysis, and fiscal reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and maintain adherence to GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and other relevant accounting standards such as ASC 606.
- Manage treasury functions including cash flow management, investment strategies, and risk analysis to optimize financial stability.
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with organizational goals; oversee budgeting processes and cost control measures.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential financial threats; develop mitigation strategies to safeguard assets.
- Lead the development of financial policies related to governmental accounting, public accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise the finance team in technical accounting activities such as accrual accounting, revenue recognition, account analysis, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Oversee internal controls to ensure accuracy in financial reporting; facilitate audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Drive business development efforts by analyzing investment opportunities and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
- Utilize advanced financial software for efficient data management; ensure accurate bookkeeping practices across departments.
- Provide leadership in cost management initiatives while maintaining high standards of fiscal responsibility across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 10 years) in corporate finance or public accounting roles with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, IAS standards including ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines.
- Proven expertise in financial statement preparation, interpretation of complex financial data, and risk management strategies.
- Strong background in governmental accounting practices and regulatory reporting requirements for non-profit organizations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency with advanced financial software systems; excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and detail orientation.
- Exceptional strategic planning abilities combined with sound judgment in investment management and cost control initiatives.
