Control & Automation Engineer
We are seeking a Control & Automation Engineer with experience developing PLC and industrial control applications, preferably within the power and energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain control software using IEC 61131-3, particularly Structured Text (ST).
- Develop control logic including state machines, sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and equipment coordination.
- Integrate industrial controllers with field devices and supervisory systems.
- Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Substation or utility automation
- Power system protection and control
- Microgrids
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Renewable energy integration
- SCADA / EMS
- Power-system controls research or laboratory work
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with SEL RTAC controllers.
- Experience with SEL-3555 or similar SEL platforms.
- Experience with SEL development and configuration tools.
- Experience developing PLC or industrial controller applications using IEC 61131-3 languages.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or
- PhD in a related field.
Candidates with relevant academic or research experience in power and energy systems are encouraged to apply, even if they have limited industry experience.
