Position Summary:
Delta Electro Power is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Winder to join our team in Cranston, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for rewinding and repairing a variety of electro-mechanical equipment. This includes removing original windings, inspecting components for damage, rewinding stators, and armatures, and performing electrical testing. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, a high level of precision, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and document data required to repair winding systems
- Map out incoming connections and create detailed sketches
- Inspect stators, armatures, and related components for damage or failure
- Remove and strip windings without damaging the core or iron
- Clean components using media blasting methods after coil removal
- Repair stator iron and other components as needed prior to rewinding
- Insert and secure prepared coils in accordance with established processes
- Perform brazing of electrical connections
- Rewind various electromechanical equipment including: o Singlephase and threephase motors
- DC fields and armatures oWound rotors and transformers
- Apply proper insulating techniques throughout the rewinding process
- Test rewound equipment in accordance with industry standards and document results
- Inspect equipment for electrical malfunctions and overall condition of windings
- Dismantle and prepare damaged equipment for repair and rewinding
- Prepare reusable parts and inspect for hidden or structural damage
- Complete all required job documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Operate specialized equipment including: o Winding machines, surge testers, and test panels
- Core-loss testers, burnout ovens, and bake ovens oGrinders, saws, cranes, forklifts, brazing units, and dip tanks
- Various hand and power tools
- Perform basic mathematical calculations as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures, including use of proper PPE (eye and ear protection, steeltoe boots, gloves, etc.)
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to operate machinery and specialized repair equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and document technical information
- Basic math skills required
- Prior experience in motor winding or electromechanical repair preferred
