What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Med/Surg PRN position at Delta County Memorial Hospital?
Delta Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical team. Under the direction of the Inpatient Director, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals from newborn to geriatric while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and the Nurse Practice Act
- Prioritize and deliver care based on patient needs and diagnoses
- Safely administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and care teams
- Participate in shift handoff and unit communication
What You'll Need
- Active Colorado RN license
- 1 year of nursing experience preferred (new graduates welcome)
- BLS required upon hire
- ACLS & PALS required upon hire or within 6 months
- New grads: ACLS within 1 year, PALS within 18 months
- Specialty certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients (up to 80 lbs unassisted; more with help)
- Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and document care
- Ability to respond quickly in high-stress situations
