The Training Liaison – Propel serves as the primary support resource for participants in both the Company Pilot Pathway and Scholarship Pilot Pathway as they progress through the flight training phase of the Propel program.

  • Must be a Retired Delta Air Lines pilot

Time Commitment:
  • Part-time role
  • Up to 20 hours per week (average)

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
Participant Engagement & Support
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Company Pilot Pathway and Scholarship Pilot Pathway participants throughout their flight training journey.
  • Foster positive relationships between trainees, partner flight schools, and Propel mentors.
  • Ensure participants understand Propel program policies and how they align with Delta’s operational needs.
Program Oversight & Coordination
  • Collaborate with the Propel Operations Manager and Propel Analyst to review KPI data and help identify participants or schools that may not be meeting program expectations.
  • Conduct investigations into potential performance or progression issues when requested.
Flight School Interaction
  • Visit partner flight schools according to the approved visit schedule to engage with participants and support strong school partnerships.
  • Coordinate visit timing with the Propel Operations Manager and Propel Analyst.
  • Note: Only the Propel Operations Manager and Propel Analyst are authorized to conduct discussions with flight school management.
Participant Communication
  • Maintain consistent communication through scheduled 1:1 check-ins (as directed by the Propel Operations Manager), email, and phone during approved business hours.
  • Provide timely updates to the Propel Operations Manager on all participant communications and status changes.
Training Progress Monitoring
  • Identify potential delays or obstacles impacting participant progression and escalate concerns promptly to the Propel Operations Manager.
  • Investigate training challenges under the direction and guidance of the Propel Operations Manager.
Career & Training Guidance
  • Offer CFI employment guidance to participants when requested.
  • Disseminate program updates and relevant information as directed by leadership.
Airline Awareness Program (AAP)
  • Deliver Airline Awareness Program sessions to help trainees transition from Part 141 flight school training to Part 121 airline operations.
  • Coordinate with the Propel team to schedule students, classrooms, simulator time, and instructors necessary for AAP delivery.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Experience as a flight instructor or line check pilot
  • Completion of PPL, INS, MEI, and CFI ratings at a civilian (non-military) flight school
