Role Overview
The Test Automation Manager will define and execute an enterprise-wide automation strategy, modernize testing practices, and leverage AI-driven innovations to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality solutions. This role requires a visionary leader who can challenge the status quo, think creatively, and make a significant impact by reducing operational costs and accelerating delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Governance
- Define and maintain enterprise-wide automation standards and roadmaps.
- Transition legacy manual processes into scalable, automated workflows to reduce operational costs.
- Architect and oversee the development of reusable automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) for UI, API, and mobile layers.
- Ensure technical adherence to quality benchmarks and best practices.
- Embed automated test suites into DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab etc.) to enable continuous testing with every code commit.
- Implement modern self-healing test scripts and AI-driven test data management to improve script stability and coverage.
- Explore emerging technologies to enhance automation efficiency.
- Maximize Delta AI capabilities using Amazon Q, Kiro and MCPs
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Manage team capacity and project timelines effectively.
- Track and report KPIs such as defect density, automation ROI, test coverage, and release readiness to senior stakeholders.
- Use analytics to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements.
- Facilitate clear communication between Quality org, product teams, and leadership.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and report progress on automation maturity metrics.
- Minimum 5 years in Quality Assurance with strong automation background.
- At least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and driving strategy.
- Strong foundation in programming languages required for testing frameworks.
- Expertise in automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber etc.)
- Expertise in CI/CD tools and Amazon cloud-based solutions.
- Expertise in AI-driven testing especially Amazon product family.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and think creatively to deliver impactful solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
