What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Utility Employee (MUE 1) (Motorized) - JFK position at Delta Air Lines, Inc.?
This a full-time position within Delta's Ground Support Equipment (GSE) business group. The MUE in a motorized role performs in supporting the motorized mechanics to help service and ensure timely repairs. The MUE maintains the physical condition and upkeep of vehicle/heavy equipment to ensure compliance with all Delta policies while promoting a safe work environment. The minimum starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks)
- Utilize appropriate detergents, solutions, and equipment to effectively and efficiently accomplish shop GSE related functions.
- Transportation and cleaning of parts,
- Preparation or parts for painting/processing including touch – up painting.
- Touch up painting and cleaning of shop and facilities.
- Requires outside work. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operation processes and procedures such as lock out tag out (LOTO).
- The MUE1 will also assist in the baggage handling system with movement of baggage tubs, staffing the manual encoding stations, and clearing of baggage system bag jams.
Internal Movement Eligibility
- Must be in good standing in current position (no formal performance development – Written Coaching Letter, Corrective Action Notice, or Final Corrective Action notice - within the past 6 months).
- Has not transferred in the past six months from current department in current station. This requirement can be waived for promotional opportunities such as SA to CSA/CXA or CSA/CXA to Specialty CSA/CXA.
- Must be in current role for at least 1 year if transferring from outside of the ACS/CGO/Clean/GSE division.
- Currently on active status, however, if you are on an inactive status, you may be eligible to transfer if you are returned to active status prior to the transfer date.
- If you recently accepted an offer within ACS/CGO/Clean/GSE division and retracted it after 72 hours of acceptance, you are required to wait 6 months to be eligible for a new role.
