What are the responsibilities and job description for the Salesperson position at Delson Jewelry?
Delson Jewelry is a family-owned jewelry store in Long Branch, NJ, serving our neighbors here and across the surrounding Monmouth County shore towns. We are hiring a full-time bilingual English/Portuguese Sales Associate to work directly with customers on our sales floor.
A large share of our customers speak Portuguese, so this role is a real fit for someone who moves comfortably between both languages all day. No jewelry background is required. We will teach you the product. What we cannot teach is presence with a customer.
What you will do
- Greet and work with customers on the sales floor, from first hello to close
- Serve our Portuguese-speaking customers in their own language
- Learn our product line, including fine jewelry, watches, and repairs, well enough to guide people to the right piece
- Write up sales, take in repair orders, and follow up with customers on their orders
- Help keep cases, displays, and inventory accurate and presentable
What we are looking for
- Fluent in both English and Portuguese, spoken
- Prior sales or customer-facing retail experience
- Professional, well-presented, and genuinely comfortable approaching people
- Reliable and trustworthy; this is a small team handling high-value merchandise
- Available on Saturdays
- Spanish is a plus
Schedule and pay
- Full-time, five days a week within a Monday through Saturday schedule, with one weekday off
- $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Plus 3% commission on your personal sales
- Consistent hours at a single location in Long Branch
