SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee the daily operations of a 60,000 sq. ft. distribution and fulfillment center near Santa Fe Springs, CA, ensuring efficient inbound, outbound, receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping operations.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 30 warehouse associates, team leads, and supervisors while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
* Drive operational excellence through the implementation, monitoring, and analysis of KPIs related to productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, shipping performance, fulfillment speed, and overall warehouse efficiency.
* Develop and implement process improvements that increase throughput, reduce errors, improve quality, and enhance operational performance within a high-volume pick-and-pack environment.
* Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence on the warehouse floor by coaching employees, resolving operational issues, and ensuring consistent execution of company standards.
* Oversee customer order fulfillment to ensure products are picked, packed, processed, and shipped accurately, on time, and in a cost-effective manner.
* Manage staffing, scheduling, labor planning, and workforce allocation to meet daily operational requirements and seasonal fluctuations in demand.
* Develop and manage departmental budgets, labor costs, and operating expenses while identifying opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
* Utilize Microsoft Excel and reporting tools to analyze operational data, identify trends, prepare performance reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
* Partner with senior leadership to establish operational goals, performance expectations, and strategic initiatives that support company growth.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, safety standards, and warehouse best practices while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe facility.
* Collaborate with Customer Service, Transportation, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operational execution and exceptional customer satisfaction.
* Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, receiving audits, reconciliation processes, and shipping controls to minimize discrepancies.
* Identify training and development opportunities that strengthen employee performance and build future leaders within the operation.
* Promote an ownership mentality by empowering employees to take initiative, solve problems, and continuously improve processes throughout the warehouse.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Proven experience managing warehouse operations within a high-volume pick-and-pack distribution or fulfillment environment.
* Demonstrated success leading warehouse teams, developing employees, and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, labor planning, and workflow optimization.
* Experience developing, monitoring, and improving KPIs to drive operational performance.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse reporting systems. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is strongly preferred.
* Experience managing departmental budgets, labor planning, and operational cost controls.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment while balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational execution.
