Position Overview: Customs Brokerage Manager
The Customs Brokerage Manager is responsible for leading daily brokerage operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing a high-performing team. This individual will play a key role in optimizing workflows, supporting strategic initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing customs brokerage team while providing day-to-day operational support
- Ensure full compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agency (OGA) regulations, including HTS classification, protest filings, and regulatory updates
- Train team members on evolving customs regulations, brokerage procedures, and systems such as CargoWise
- Evaluate current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and accuracy
- Partner with the Sales team on client meetings and support broader company growth initiatives
- Proactively identify service issues and collaborate with leadership to implement solutions
- Oversee key client (VIP) accounts and provide hands-on support for customs clearance when needed
- Support supervisors and team members to ensure timely and accurate shipment processing
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in freight forwarding and/or customs brokerage operations
- Experience or academic background in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or Logistics is a plus
- At least two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Active Customs Broker License is required
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Bilingual Mandarin required
