GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is for a Logistics Manager. Responsible for managing and providing logistics services to Program managers during project planning, execution, system testing, and certification.
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight and or able to perform the following:
- Bid analysis for procurement of material/services more than 10K across multiple locations.
- Prepare Statements of Work and Request for Quotation for materials and services.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve material/services issues and submit vendor feedback/supply corrective action requests as needed.
- Directly responsible for writing and modifying companywide shipping and receiving processes and manuals.
- Attend Production meetings and review material requirements for tasks.
- Generate Job Material Lists (JML) as needed and review JML for accuracy and assign logistics personnel.
- Ensure logistics personnel initiate procurement requests properly.
- Provide oversight of warehouse via warehouse managers across all locations.
- Manage all materials across all locations ensuring timely execution of production supplies as required.
- Conduct material management meetings and training to ensure all teams are operating seamlessly companywide
- Serve as Point of Contact for all building related issues regarding warehouse maintenance.
- Overall responsibility for shipping, receiving, and all storage requirements.
- Address CARs, PARs, and CRs.
- Vendor selection and negotiation, distribution of goods and services.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Supply/Logistics field in relation to a DoD procurement environment.
- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance and CAC card.
- Reading and understanding manuals and drawings.
- Experience with FAR and DFAR.
- Experience with NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Attention to details, Strategic planning, and analyzing information.
- Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively to identify work priorities in a constant changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Strong analytical ability and strong research capabilities.
- Customer service skills are a must.
- Proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing various Government Systems: PDREP, ASSIST, One Touch Supply, LogiQuest, Haystack or FEDLOG, DoDmall, and FedMall.
- Strong understanding of 3M, COSAL, and APLS for US Navy Submarines and Ships.
- Strong understanding of DOD material acquisitions
- Perform purchasing processes using the Navy Stock system, including but not limited to obtaining government approval to purchase, and entering ordering & receipt data into government databases.
- Good Working Knowledge: Navy Stock System; Defense Logistics Agency (DLA); Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO); One Touch Navy; DELTEK.
- Experience with federal stock system documentation, forms, logistics, and purchasing processes.
