What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Clinical Operations position at Delphia Therapeutics?
VP, Clinical Operations
Reports to: CMO
About Us:
Delphia is a biotechnology company on a mission in the service of patients to pioneer an entirely new field of cancer biology, Activation Lethality, that targets cancer’s vulnerability to oncogene overactivation. Together, we are working to advance first-in-class targeted cancer medicines that can provide better and more durable outcomes for patients, particularly where drug resistance is observed. Partnering together in a supportive, open, and collaborative environment, we share a sense of purpose and urgency and commitment to patients to approach cancer biology through a different perspective and to establish Activation Lethality as the next wave of oncology therapeutics.

You will have the opportunity to define and build the Clinical Operations function from the ground up.
As a key member of the development leadership team, you will play a central role in bringing our oncology programs into the clinic—defining operational strategy, establishing infrastructure, and ensuring high-quality execution of clinical trials.
This role requires both executive-level thinking and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. You’ll set the vision for Clinical Operations while working closely across Clinical Development, Regulatory, CMC, and other functions to translate strategy into action.

- Translate clinical development strategy into executable, high-quality clinical trial plans
- Lead the operational planning and execution of oncology clinical trials across all phases (startup through closeout)
- Act as a central connector across functions—ensuring alignment across Clinical Development, Regulatory, CMC, Data, and Finance
- Select, oversee, and manage CROs, vendors, and clinical sites, ensuring strong performance and accountability
- Develop and evolve an outsourcing and resourcing model appropriate for a growing oncology company
- Own operational delivery, including timelines, budgets, enrollment, and data quality
- Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Anticipate operational and regulatory challenges and proactively drive cross-functional solutions
- Ensure trials are conducted to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and inspection readiness
- Contribute to key clinical and regulatory documents in partnership with Clinical Development and Regulatory teams
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing clinical operations team as the organization grows
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and practical problem-solving
What We’re Looking For
- 15 years of experience in clinical operations, including leadership of oncology clinical trials across the full lifecycle
- Deep expertise in oncology clinical development, with early-phase experience strongly preferred
- Experience bringing programs from preclinical or early development into the clinic
- Build and cultivate a new functional team from the ground up; hire and mentor team members to build a scalable, high-performing function aligned to organizational goals.
- Demonstrated success operating as a cross-functional leader, influencing without authority and driving alignment across diverse teams
- Strong track record selecting and partnering with CROs and external collaborators
- Prior experience significantly shaping clinical operations functions in a biotech or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of FDA, ICH-GCP, and global clinical trial regulations
- Familiarity with oncology clinical development strategy and the ability to effectively partner and collaborate with other clinical development functions
- Executive presence with clear, concise communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
- Highly accountable, resourceful, and solutions-oriented
- Willingness to be hands-on when needed—this is a lean and growing organization
