What You'll Do

As our Platform Engineer, you'll own three critical pillars: data platform, developer platform, and product platform. This isn't a traditional infrastructure role - you'll be architecting the systems that enable our team to move fast while maintaining reliability at scale. You'll build the foundations that power everything from our real-time AI interactions to our analytics pipelines, from CI/CD to observability.

Data Platform

• Design and implement a comprehensive data warehouse in BigQuery with robust ETL pipelines that unify data from all sources
• Lead the migration of our database from Aurora to PlanetScale, ensuring zero downtime and optimal performance
• Build data infrastructure that scales with millions of AI interactions while maintaining strong governance and privacy standards
  
  

Developer Platform

• Own our CI/CD pipeline with relentless focus on deployment speed, test coverage, and reliability
• Champion developer experience by continuously improving both local and cloud environments
• Push the boundaries of AI tooling - configure Claude Code instances, build custom MCP servers, and create workflows that 10x developer productivity
  
  

Product Platform

• Architect and deploy Temporal infrastructure to power background agents and durable workflows at scale
• Build systems that enable new product features to ship quickly without sacrificing reliability
• Implement comprehensive observability across all services, infrastructure, and providers
• Optimize infrastructure costs and engineer efficient, right-sized solutions
  
  

Who You Are

• Systems thinker: You audit systems holistically and implement unified standards rather than one-off fixes. You have 5 years building and scaling production infrastructure with experience in observability, monitoring, and incident response at scale.
• Speed enabler: You believe great platform engineering means teams can move fast without breaking things. Background in fast-growing startups (0-1 or scaling phase).
• Generalist builder: You're comfortable moving between data pipelines, infrastructure automation, and DevOps tooling - whatever the platform needs. Deep experience with data infrastructure (warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, analytics systems) and strong foundation in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Scale-minded: You anticipate infrastructure needs before they become bottlenecks and own the evolution of systems as we scale. Track record of improving developer velocity through better tooling and workflows.
• Standards-driven: You define and enforce critical standards around data governance, customer privacy, and security best practices - with comfort in ambiguity and the ability to define what needs to be built.
