The role involves maintaining critical server infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with senior systems and infrastructure teams to optimize operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise server and data center operations to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, including installing updates, security patches, firmware upgrades, and hardware updates.
- Monitor server and infrastructure health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve hardware and system-related problems.
- Assist with incident response, system monitoring, and operational support activities.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and follow established operational procedures.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and support activities outside normal business hours as needed.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise server environments within modern data centers.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with patch management, system maintenance, and troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
- Availability to support after-hours maintenance and operational needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
