Job Title: ISS (In-School Suspension) and Study Hall Supervisor

Location: Delphi Community High School

Reports To: Principal or Assistant Principal

Job Summary:

The ISS and Study Hall Supervisor oversees students assigned to In-School Suspension and Study Hall. This individual ensures a safe, structured, and academically focused environment while supporting students in completing their assigned coursework and maintaining appropriate behavior in accordance with school policies.

Key Responsibilities:

In-School Suspension (ISS):

• Supervise and monitor students assigned to ISS throughout the school day.
• Ensure students follow all ISS rules and expectations.
• Maintain accurate attendance and disciplinary records for students in ISS.
• Coordinate with teachers to gather and distribute class assignments.
• Assist students with academic tasks when appropriate, maintaining a quiet, focused learning environment.
• Report any behavioral incidents or non-compliance to school administration.

Study Hall:

• Monitor students during study hall periods to ensure productivity and proper behavior.
• Enforce rules regarding noise levels, electronic device usage, and academic focus.
• Provide support and assistance with schoolwork as needed.
• Take attendance and report absences or unusual behavior to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with high school students in an educational or supervisory role is strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold school discipline policies.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

Working Conditions:

• School environment: supervision of students for extended periods.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and move within a classroom environment.
• May require lifting of light materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs).

• Compensation is based on experience and the school district's pay scale.
