We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team at DeLong Plumbing Heating and Air. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to assist with various excavation tasks essential for plumbing installations and repairs. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities
- Operate Mini excavators, Backhoes and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently on job sites.
- Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks as required for plumbing projects.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of excavation work.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as needed.
Requirements
- Operating a Backhoe, Mini Track hoe, Track skid steer, and other types of equipment that are used for digging, grading, and compacting earth, sand, gravel, and stone.
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Keeping equipment clean and orderly.
- Able to pull trailers with equipment.
- Ensuring that safety, compliance, environmental requirements are always followed.
- Completing necessary paperwork and assisting with other duties as required.
- Communicating with plumbers, drivers, crew, supervisor, loader operators, and laborers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Excavation equipment operation and safety practices.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength for manual labor tasks.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (CDL Not required)
Skills that are good but not required
- Septic certified
- Plumbing experience
- Customer service skills
- Ability to read blueprints / building plans
