Work You'll Do
As a Tax Manager, you will lead federal tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will serve as a trusted advisor, work directly with client stakeholders, manage engagement teams and workstreams, and collaborate with Deloitte specialists to address complex tax matters and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
You will oversee engagements from planning through completion, including coordinating teams, managing deliverables and priorities, and maintaining appropriate standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness. You will provide tax compliance, advisory, planning, and controversy services tailored to client needs, while helping clients respond to changing business, regulatory, and tax requirements. You will also identify opportunities to improve tax processes and functions through effective use of technology, data, and operating-model approaches.

Our WNT Passthroughs Group specializes in the intricacies of passthrough entities (partnerships and S corporations), including domestic and cross-border restructurings, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions. As a Manager in WNT's Passthroughs Group, you will collaborate directly with some of the leading experts in federal, state, and international taxation to consult with our clients throughout the transaction cycle - from negotiations right up to and including tax rulings and examinations. You will work on a variety of matters and will have significant opportunities to engage in legal research, analyze novel technical issues, and draft tax opinion letters and memoranda. You will frequently participate in speaking, writing, and professional association activities that address current developments in legislative proposals, judicial decisions, regulatory and administrative guidance, as well as tax administration and tax policy.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, JD or related field
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
- 3 years' experience in taxation in a law firm or 5 years' experience in a public accounting firm practice
- One of the following accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Located in, or willingness to relocate to, the Washington, D.C. metro area
- Ability to travel 10-20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- An advanced degree such as MS in Taxation or JD and/or JD/LLM
- Strong analytical abilities:
- 5 years' experience performing structured tax analysis and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills:
- 5 years' experience delivering clear, executive-ready written and oral communications.
