Data Migration Lead, Senior Consultant

Work you'll do

As a Data Engineer III on the GPS Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for delivering Appian-based business process solutions that support mission objectives.

• Lead migration of data from legacy system into the relational database supporting a new Appian application.
• Own source-to-target mapping, migration strategy, ETL coordination, reconciliation, validation, and cutover support across the full migration lifecycle.
• Partner with architects, Appian developers, analysts, and business SMEs to ensure data quality, completeness, and alignment to the evolving target-state data model.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and release support.
• Apply Appian development standards, reusable components, and performance practices to support maintainability and technical quality.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Active Public Trust security clearance
• Must be MarkLogic Certified or able to obtain MarkLogic Certification.
• 5 years of experience data migration leadership
• 3 years of experience developing detailed source-to-target mappings for data integration and migration initiatives.
• 3 years of experience with strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages.
• 3 years of experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and defect resolution to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• 1 years of experience delivering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  
  

Preferred:

• Proficiency designing, developing, testing, and executing ETL processes.
• Experience with Appian or low-code platform migrations
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases
• Familiarity with data profiling, cleansing, and cutover planning
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management software

This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $131,000 to $218,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
