This role requires strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and close collaboration with Operations, Technology, and Front Office stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess payments flagged by control rules prior to release
- Validate payments against supporting evidence, including trades, confirmations, and SSI details
- Make release, hold, or escalate decisions in line with defined procedures and limits of authority
- Stop and escalate payments where risk, ambiguity, or insufficient evidence is identified
- Perform root cause analysis on exceptions and near misses
- Identify drivers of false positives and support refinement of control rules
- Maintain accurate audit trails and documentation for all decisions
- Produce management information on volumes, outcomes, and key exception drivers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex scenarios and obtain direct clarification where needed
- Support banking operations strategy, process improvement, automation, and optimization initiatives
- Monitor and report key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide guidance and training on banking operations best practices and procedures
- 3 years of experience in Global Markets Operations, payment processing, or post-trade activities
- Strong understanding of payment flows, settlement processes, and trade lifecycle
- Ability to analyze and validate financial transactions using multiple data sources
- Experience handling exceptions in controlled operational environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make risk-based decisions under time pressure
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in payment controls, transaction monitoring, or risk/control environments
- Knowledge of FX, derivatives, collateral, or financing products
- Familiarity with SSI validation, confirmations, and settlement data
- Experience working with rule-based or AI/ML-driven control environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
