Overview:
The mission of Delmarva Christian Schools is to proclaim the Gospel by preparing students spiritually, academically, and physically to know and do God’s will in their lives. To carry out this mission, DCS employs people who through their speech and conduct will impact the lives of students, parents, and fellow staff through Christ-centered relationships and the teaching of a “living curriculum”.
Requirements
Living Curriculum:
- Employ Matthew 18 principle in all conflict resolution
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, coaches, volunteers, students, families, outside vendors and organizations
- Prayerfully maintain a lifestyle that demonstrates a commitment to Christ
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expresses full commitment to uphold the DCS Statement of Faith and to serve in a way that is consistent with - and promotes - DCS beliefs, values, and mission.
- Is a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions. This includes being fully committed to God’s biblical standards for a Christian lifestyle.
- Actively participates in a local evangelical church
- Proven to possess excellent relational and communication skills with healthy working relationships
- Maintains high standards of ethics, integrity, and appropriate confidentiality in all personal and professional matters.
- Possesses a high degree of organizational skills and computer literacy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with dismissal of students through cafeteria door each morning
- Work with children through games and activities as directed by the extended care coordinator, and conduct themselves in a manner conducive to effective relationships, reflecting Christ’s love.
- Employ the use of a variety of games that students can all play together or engage the students in activities.
- Monitor free play by being able to walk around the playground and cafeteria as monitoring is taking place. This can involve being on your feet for a period of two hours.
- Maintain the area used by extended care by making sure the area is cleaned up, trash is out, and building is secure.
- Interact with parents in a pleasant and confident manner
- Take all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Uphold and enforce School and Board policies
- Refer all discipline issues to the Extended Care Coordinator.
- Other duties, as assigned.
