Qualifications
- Minimum of Associate Degree or Minimum of 60 college credits or successful passage of ETS ParaPro
- Satisfactory Child Protection Registry
- Mantoux skin test/PPD documentation
- Cooperative Attitude
- Excellent work ethic and ability to work collaboratively
- The State of Delaware requires all public school employees to undergo a criminal background check (state and federal) to determine suitability for employment.
- Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory criminal background check, which is the responsibility of the employee.
- The State of Delaware requires new employees to be paid by direct deposit and to be part of a lag payroll system as conditions of employment.
- Facilitate targeted instruction provided by general education teachers in a classroom setting
- Assists teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well-being
- May work individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning
- This position also performs a variety of instructional and classroom management supports, as well as related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in all classrooms or learning environments
- Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning
- Assist teacher with student needs; may include feeding, lifting, toileting, and other learning activities
- Assists in other physical ways as identified in the IEP
- Reports to work on time every workday, except as afforded by existing law
- Perform other duties as directed by the school administration
