Job Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with 0 3 years of experience in sourcing and procurement within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services while ensuring timely availability of quality products at competitive costs. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support production schedules and continuous supply chain improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and structural components.
- Manage Purchase Requisitions (PR) and convert them into Purchase Orders (PO) using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet production schedules and new product development requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for inbound deliveries and customs clearance when applicable.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, value engineering, localization, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify alternative materials and qualified suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while negotiating pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to support material availability.
- Assist in supplier quality issue resolution and root cause analysis.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by sourcing new components and suppliers.
Required Skills
- 0 3 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Purchasing.
- Experience with supplier management, vendor negotiation, and procurement operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, casting, and electronics.
- Understanding of Should Costing, cost analysis, supplier audits, and procurement best practices.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Graduate (Preferred).
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial procurement operations.
- Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and supply chain optimization initiatives.
