Warehouse Worker /Picker/Packer/Immediate Start

Position: Warehouse Associate
Location: Hauppauge, NY 11788, USA
Duration: 8-month contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $19.50/hr (Weekly Pay)
Shift: 2nd shift 3.30pm-12am

Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse operations by performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, and fulfilling orders. Responsibilities include wrapping, boxing, staging shipments, and maintaining inventory accuracy while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound shipments.
• Stage, pack, and prepare outbound shipments according to site policies.
• Execute ERP system transactions for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Update FMS for parcel and freight shipments.
• Utilize handheld RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems to fulfill orders.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper documentation.
• Handle and control hazardous materials safely.
• Follow 5S safety, housekeeping practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Complete all required safety training and follow protocol in risk situations.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks.
• Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Operate powered industrial trucks including work assist vehicles (WAV), off-the-ground order pickers (up to 35' off the ground), reach trucks, dock stockers, and powered pallet jacks.
• Create repair RMAs and manage receiving/shipment issues within repair systems.
• Develop familiarity with products, processes, operational metrics, and software tools; follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including work instruction documentation and process standardization.
• Resolve basic operational problems and perform simple analysis.
• Evaluate and maintain warehouse equipment.
• Create expense orders for internal repair consumption.
• Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and prepare for external audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Experience: 1 year of warehouse, shipping, or related experience preferred
• Skills and Competencies:
• • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office and desktop applications)
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler
  • Fundamental reading and writing skills
• Licenses/Certifications: None required, but forklift/powered industrial truck certification is a plus

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move materials throughout the workday
• Work in a warehouse environment with potential exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
• Use appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and gloves
