Full Stack Engineer (Peru or Brazil)

We are seeking a passionate and collaborative full stack engineer who is dedicated to building high-quality, reliable and maintainable code. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, working closely with product managers, designers, consultants, and end users to make thoughtful, shared decisions that deliver valuable, working software to clients and their users. The successful candidate is agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we’re doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we’re doing right so we can improve on it. Above all, they will judge their success by the success of their team and the happiness of our users.

Key Responsibilities 

• Build and maintain partner-facing and internal apps using React (SPA/SSR), TypeScript, and a monorepo managed with Nx. 

• Design scalable Node.js services and APIs (REST/GraphQL), integrating with data platforms and third-party systems. 

• Ship on Azure (e.g., App Service/Functions, Container Apps/AKS, Storage, SQL/Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Service Bus/Event Grid); automate with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code. 

• Use Python for data processing, analytics jobs, and ML/AI integration where helpful. 

• Incorporate AI responsibly (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, classification, copilots) to improve productivity and outcomes for public-sector users. 

• Champion security, privacy, accessibility, observability, and test automation. 

• Collaborate with consultants and measurement & evaluation specialists to translate theories of change and delivery routines into product features and dashboards.

Required Skills/Experiences: 

• 3 years building production web applications with Node.js and TypeScript. 

• Strong React fundamentals (state management, hooks, performance) and experience with Nx monorepos. 

• Experience deploying to Azure and operating cloud services (monitoring, scaling, security). 

• Proficiency with Python for data/automation tasks. 

• Practical experience applying AI/LLM tools or frameworks in real products. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English. 

• Authorization location requirements: Must be based in and have work authorization in Peru or Brazil.
