The ideal Logistics Coordinator-Dispatcher candidate will be able to work both individually and in a team environment, have excellent attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
The schedule will be: Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for overseeing and facilitating the courier operations, and customer care for DSA. The Logistics Coordinator is the key at the very center of a fast-paced team environment and is accountable to deliver results through their drivers. Our customers’ needs require individuals who possess superior critical thinking skills, the ability to create solutions that exceed customer expectations and company objectives and can effectively manage their workloads through solid tactical planning while quickly adapting to a dynamic environment. This position also requires impeccable oral and written communicative skills, the ability to demonstrate leadership and work well within a team environment. The Logistics Coordinator will manage asset utilization and drivers to ensure high delivery of customer service and fleet profitability. Additionally, the Logistics Coordinator assists, coaches, and mentors drivers with all training and administrative items.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for dispatching courier drivers, tracking and tracing, providing support to driver fleet for all road issues, (breakdowns, bad addresses, difficult deliveries, etc.), communicating all issues with management and customer care teams.
- Email communications.
- OS&D accuracy and reporting.
- Customer contact and interactions.
- Ensure premises, assets and communication methods are used effectively.
- Utilize computers to monitor route deliveries and metrics.
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.
- Maintain delivery tracking logs and records for all customer related services.
- Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Other projects and/or duties as assigned which may include minor warehouse assistance.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of Logistics/3PL experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of Courier experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Telephone dispatch experience.
- Minimum of 3 years transportation industry experience.
- Energetic and professional with excellent verbal skills.
- Computer literate in Office Suite programs, CRM software and navigating the internet.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position may require some minor warehouse work support.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent.
