Summer Associate

Job Summary

Delight Restaurant Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Associate to join our team for Summer 2025. This internship is an exciting opportunity for a current college student to gain real-world experience by contributing to strategic financial analysis and supporting business initiatives across our organization.

This paid internship will provide hands-on experience working directly with senior leaders and analysts on key projects that influence company growth and performance. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, analytical, and enthusiastic about using data to drive business decisions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Business Analysis (70%)

• Assist in preparing financial models and data visualizations to evaluate operational performance, investment decisions, and margin improvement opportunities.
• Support restaurant-level benchmarking projects, identifying trends across markets and brands.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting teams to tie out P&L line items and investigate key cost drivers.
• Analyze commodity pricing trends (e.g., beef, chicken, packaging) and their impact on financial outcomes.

Strategic Projects & Initiatives (30%)

• Contribute to projects focused on optimizing costs, improving vendor performance, and enhancing pricing strategies.
• Participate in ad hoc research and analysis to support company-wide decision-making and planning.
• Assist in preparing internal presentations and memos for senior leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic modeling).
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Interest in the QSR industry is a plus.
