Security Guard (Part-Time)

Position Purpose
Under supervision of the security supervisor the security guard is responsible for protecting a person, organization or asset in the case of an incident. Their duties include monitoring a specific area, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift. The overall duty of a security guard is to protect a company’s property, employees and visitors.
Functional Responsibility
This is a part-time role on Saturdays and Sundays from 12am-8:30am (16 hours a week).
Essential Duties
Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities
Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols .
Logging in and out trucks, sending them to their docks and checking their seals on their way out
7 point inspection on trucks
Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities
Providing detailed reports to management on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred
Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
Calls police or fire departments in case of emergency, such as a fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Performing CPR or first aid when needed

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Prior experience as a security guard
18 years of age or older
Certificates and Licenses
Valid Drivers License
Valid Security Guard card
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to remain calm and rational in emergencies.
Must exhibit excellent communication skill
Written and verbal communication
Customer service skills
Ability to work independently
Working Conditions
General office and winery working condition
Required to drive automatic vehicle or equipment frequently
Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
Exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes
Extended Hours
Shift Rotation
Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment
Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
