Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality coffee and food items. This role requires a passion for coffee, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Barista will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring each guest has a positive experience.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using espresso machines and other equipment
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Handle food safety procedures, including proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation practices
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Process payments accurately using cash registers and perform basic math calculations for transactions
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling food items or snacks for customers
- Uphold food industry standards and safety regulations at all times
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, promoting sales and enhancing the overall café experience
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with guests
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in food service or retail environments is a plus
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
