REQUIRED: Valid NYS teaching certificate in Students with Disabilities – Birth-2
QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED:
- Experience in a self-contained classroom; students in grades K-2, students with disabilities.
- Experience, knowledge and background related to N.Y.S. Learning Standards and differentiation to ensure student understanding and comprehension.
- Desire and knowledge to embed structured learning experiences around the five broad developmental domains.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to colaborate with parents, staff, students, related service providers, support staff and administration.
- Evidence of ability to implement inclusive learning activities and support an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Knowledge and evidence of Individualized Education Programming and subsequent document development.
- Evidence of strong classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement within the classroom; behavior intervention supports and data collection when needed.
- Commitment to ongoing team development, curriculum and professional development and instructional technology.
