Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of mechanics, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs on heavy equipment, farm machinery, industrial systems, and vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspensions, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform fabrication tasks such as welding and custom modifications to enhance equipment performance or address specific operational needs.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other heavy machinery.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to disassemble, repair, assemble, and test equipment ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection logs to track maintenance history and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead safety initiatives by enforcing proper procedures during heavy lifting, tire service, welding operations, and equipment repairs.
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with heavy trucks, construction equipment, or agricultural machinery is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems repair for trucks and farm machinery.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and metalwork; experience with power tools is essential.
- Hands-on experience operating excavators, cranes (including mobile cranes), forklifts, tractors-trailers, HVAC systems, shocks & struts repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension components, alignment procedures and tire service.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving hydraulics, electrical systems (including automotive electrical), HVAC units and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment repair standards along with strong mechanical aptitude for service technician roles.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects while adhering to safety protocols in heavy lifting environments.
