Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, packaging, and stocking of seafood products while following proper food safety and handling procedures.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and organized seafood displays to enhance the shopping experience.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, answering questions and offering product recommendations.
- Monitor product freshness, quality, and rotation to ensure all items meet company standards.
- Support inventory activities by restocking shelves, reporting low stock, and helping receive shipments.
- Follow pricing and labeling guidelines to ensure accuracy across all products.
- Safely operate department tools and equipment, including scales and basic cutting tools.
- Assist with basic sanitation duties such as cleaning counters, equipment, ice beds, and work areas.
- Utilize POS systems when needed for customer transactions or price checks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with department staff to maintain smooth daily operations and positive team communication.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in grocery, retail, or food service environments is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively with a diverse customer base.
- Basic understanding of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
- Comfortable with tasks involving cold environments, wet conditions, and handling fresh seafood.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills.
- Knowledge of seafood products is a plus, but enthusiasm to learn is essential.
