What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist-PART TIME position at Delco Development?
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts payable function, general ledger entries and ad hoc reporting in a multi entity setting. The position will also include general filing, clerical, and accounting analyses as requested.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Posts accounts payable invoices and ensures they are assigned to the correct property and general ledger account.
· Prepares accounts payable checks from multiple checking accounts ensuring proper invoice approvals and allocations have been made.
· Maintain accounts payable and banking files ensuring that records are filed accurately and regularly.
· Works with Human Resources to approve and allocate employee benefit invoices.
· Pays supplier invoices in a timely manner.
· Makes and records debt payments as they become due.
· Ensures inter-company transactions are properly recorded and balanced to each other.
· Conduct periodic reconciliations of key accounts to ensure accuracy.
· Files invoices and conducts weekly back-up after all check-runs.
· Prepares boxes and files for permanent retention annually.
· Maintains company vendor files, including W-9 forms.
· Accurately and timely prepares 1099 and 1096 forms for all entities.
· Scans capitalized invoices for all properties on a weekly basis.
· Calculates variances from the budget and reports significant issues to management.
· Reviews and transmits sales & occupancy tax reports and payments.
· Assists management in month-end and year-end closes.
· Scans other documents as necessary.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· Associate ‘s degree or equivalent related experience in accounting.
· Previous experience in a multi-entity environment is required.
· Utilization of multiple accounting information systems, with AppFolio and M3 Accounting software a plus.
· Previous experience in property management or real estate would be a plus.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
