Responsibilities
- Dispense spectacle lenses and adjust eyewear frames with precision, ensuring optimal fit and comfort for each patient
- Conduct thorough eyewear fittings, including measurements of pupillary distance and frame adjustments
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and personal style preferences
- Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations
- Support laboratory processes by preparing lenses, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring quality control in optical laboratory tasks
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medical terminology related to vision care, and guiding them through insurance or medical coding procedures
- Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, including aseptic techniques during equipment handling and eyewear adjustments
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Optician with state healthcare regulation knowledge and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
- Demonstrated experience in optical dispensing, eyewear fittings, and laboratory procedures within retail or clinical settings
- Strong understanding of ophthalmology concepts, anatomy knowledge related to the eye, physiology principles, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical terminology clearly and professionally
- Knowledge of health regulation policies such as HIPAA
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
