School Van Driver – Part-Time

Position Summary:
The School Van Driver is responsible for operating the school van on a regular daily schedule to transport students on the school’s Glenside route.
Employment Classification: Non-exempt, 10 month
Reports to: Director of Facilities
Oversight and responsibilities:
- Drives school van to transport students to and from the school. Specific pick-up and drop-off areas will depend on location of the students being transported.
- Operates the van in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with the law and all relevant school policies and procedures.
- Ensures that van is in good operating condition by performing required daily pre-trip safety inspections and maintenance checks, and that van is “broom clean” and free from garbage post-trip.
- Communicates with co-workers, parents, students and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid PA driver’s license
- Over 25 years of age
- Satisfactory background checks and motor vehicle history
- Preferred: experience driving school-age children
- Preferred: familiarity with and appreciation for Quaker principles
Compensation: $19.00-$23.00/hr depending on qualifications and experience
