SEEKING:
LORRAINE (Identifies as female, 30s, any ethnicity) Bright, no-nonsense, unfiltered, honest, talkative, kind-hearted. Not a gamer AT ALL. Strong actor/singer/mover with great comic timing. Mezzo-soprano with belt to D5.
TRIS (Late 20's-early 30’s, any ethnicity, any or no gender) Especially seeking genderqueer, agender, nonbinary, trans actors for this role. A confident, unapologetic, loyal, smart-ass, avid gamer with a loyal heart. Any vocal range.
JAMIE (early-mid 20’s, any ethnicity, any or no gender) A confident, spirited, avid gamer. Unafraid of the spotlight, Jamie games not just for the love of gaming, but for the likes, the follows, the views, and the potential of ad revenue and selling merch. Has great comic timing. Any vocal range.
SRI (Identifies as male, mid to late 20’s, South Asian or South Asian American) A kind, fastidious, charming, avid gamer. Motherless at a young age, Sri struggles to connect with real people and the outside world, choosing to get lost in his favorite video game Other World. A strong singer with great comic timing. CLYDE'S
Book by Lynn Nottage
Director: TBD
SYNOPSIS: From two-time Pulitzer Prize® winner Lynn Nottage, Clyde’s is a sharp, soulful comedy about redemption and resilience. Set in a roadside sandwich shop staffed by formerly incarcerated workers, the play explores the healing power of food, the complexities of forgiveness, and the transformative strength of human connection.
SEEKING:
CLYDE (F, 40s) fierce and sexy, leans across the counter, intently listening, all steel, unmovable. The gravel in her voice betrays a life of cigarettes and whiskey, lived with gusto and no apology.
MONTRELLOUS (M, 40s) zen-like, wise, talented, and cool as hell, meticulously garnishes a grilled cheese sandwich. He's the John Coltrane of sandwich making. It is all love for him, no drudgery involved in this process.
RAFAEL (M, 20s), a recovering addict who wears his emotion on his sleeve
LETITIA (F, 20s), direct, self-possessed, and perhaps too quick to offer an opinion
JASON (M, late twenties) moody, white supremacist tats on his face
