Essential Functions
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
- With the assistance of extension agents, lead and assist the Program Director and Senior Administrative Assistant with the timely inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Lead and assist the Program Director and Senior Administrative Assistant in following DSU data governance rules, compliance with university policies and procedures, and best practices regarding the protection of confidential data.
- Be available to assist with vendors and orders for various educational workshops and meetings and be prepared to be available when those activities are conducted in various locations in the state.
- Follow Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines to ensure equal access to outreach education programs.
- Assist the Program Director with the mini-grant funding management and students’ support funding related needs.
- Assist the Program Team with daily program activities and funding allocations and processed.
- Assist the Program Director and Program Team with tracking program progress and program reporting.
- Schedule team meetings and coordinate team member networking and communication.
- Assist with program progress and fnal reporting to the Delaware EPSCOR Office.

- College level accounting, finance, and or economy courses.
- Strong accounting, bookkeeping, organizational, and planning skills.
- Willingness to remain knowledgeable of new financial systems, procedures, and best practices.
- Demonstrated strong project management/coordination skills with multiple partners and students.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Fundamental understanding of grants processes, insecption reports, and financial reporting.
- Ability to manage complicated scheduling and travel arrangements.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrates an understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures and backgrounds.

- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet travel requirements.

- Familiar with the banner, excel worksheet, and finance software.
- Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and has knowledge with the program strategic planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the program’s strategic plan.
Qualification Standards
Education: Ph.D. degree with minimum of 2 years transferrable program/functional experiences in Biological, Life, Environmental, Natural Resources, Environmental Chemistry disciplines.
