What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Building Chief - Night position at Delaware Schools Consortium?
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a custodial/maintenance leadership role preferred.
- Previous experience in cleaning and/or maintenance of facilities preferred.
- Possess basic computer technology skills.
- Ability to communicate as a leader to team of custodians to provide direction, solve problems, and convey expectations.
- Willingness to work as a member of a team and exhibit sound interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform essential job functions on site in year-round weather conditions, lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, walking/standing for long periods of time, and completion of tasks requiring full range of movement. In addition, must be able to operate machinery necessary for cleaning.
- Work to clear snow when necessary.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration and/or Board of Education deems appropriate and acceptable.
- Act as supervisor of night custodial crew of approximately 10 employees.
- Assume responsibility for the comprehensive overall cleaning, planning, and scheduling of tasks for custodial night work crew.
- Assure that facilities are safe, secure, and clean for students and staff during the following workday.
- Work in collaboration with custodial day crew leadership, building administration, and adult education administration and staff to support daily school operations and special events.
- Support the maintenance of all indoor areas including hallways, classrooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
- Function as a custodian with a designated area to clean in addition to supervisorial duties.
- Lead and train other custodians in the care and repair of equipment, management of supplies, and inventory.
- Exhibit positive and professional interaction with all employees, students, and community members.
- Assist in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of members of custodial staff.
- Support all custodial duties if necessary.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month position. Year-round night position only. 3:00 – 11:00 daily.
Salary and Benefits: Pension and State of Delaware benefit eligible position including paid leave. Salary commensurate with verified experience according to state and local salary schedules.
Annual salary range: $44,800 - $57,700
