What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT position at DELAWARE RESOURCE GROUP OF OKLAHOMA?
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the research and implementation of new business pursuits, with proposal and program management support as directed. The Director of Business Development will be asked to recommend teams in response to pursuit/contract needs, initiate new relationship or teaming discussions, and market the Company’s expertise and past performance, as approved by the Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent has the authority to perform day-to-day operations while ensuring appropriate senior management/leadership stays abreast of issues.
Essential Duties of the Position
- Maintains records for ongoing and future pursuits in the specific areas of FAA, NASA, UAS, Army, Navy and other outside opportunities
- Lead program and proposal teams, facilitate the communication and interaction among the functional representatives, and identify winning strategies.
- Track proposals and activities against schedules for strategic initiatives as well as required response deadlines.
- Develop and implement contacts with new and existing customers and teaming partners.
- Participate in writing requirements and proposal development
- Participate in review teams
- Coordinate with customers to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.
- Coordinate the development of business plans, valuations, acquisition plans and business terms.
- Lead proposal pursuits as directed by the VP of BD and CEO.
- Ensure communications with all parties through various forums to avoid conflicts, deadlines and coordinate activities.
- Manage and supervise assigned employees within the company program management team and proposal group to ensure high performance output for customer.
- Attend industry events for business development opportunities.
- Facilitate meetings with new and existing customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 or more years of experience is preferred. Must have skill in problem solving and analysis. Must be customer/client focused and be able to manage projects in a timely manner. Must possess interpersonal skills and leadership attributes.
