Overview
Our established private practice specializing in plastic surgery and dermatology is seeking an experienced, detailed-oriented Part Time medical biller to join our team. We are looking for a dependable professional who enjoys working in a small, patient- focused office. Someone who takes ownership of billing process and is proactive in resolving outstanding claims and maximizing practice revenue.
Responsibilities Include:
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims
- Resolve claim denials and manage insurance appeals
- Verify eligibility and benefits
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately
- Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing questions
- Ensure accurate coding and billing in compliance with payer guidelines and HIPPA regulations
- Work closely with providers and staff to support efficient revenue cycle management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience (plastic surgery and dermatology experienced preferred)
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding
- Experience with Medicare, commercial insurance and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with cosmetic procedures and self- pay billing a plus
- Experience with EMR and medical billing software
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
Position Details:
- Part Time (approximately 15-20 hours per week)
- Flexible weekday schedule
- In office position
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience ($28-36/hour depending on experience with dermatology, plastic surgery, qr cosmetic procedure billing is preferred but not required)
