What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Horseman's Bookkeeper position at Delaware Park Casino & Racing?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintains accounts for all money owing to horsemen in regards to purses, stakes, claims and deposits.
- Provide that all portions of purse money be available to earners within forty-eight hours after the results of the race is declared official.
- Post racing results, set up and maintain client accounts, issue checks and statements, maintain accurate tax identification records, administer purse redistributions and other requests as needed.
- Interact with Finance Controller, Accounting Manager, G/L team and Bank to maintain a stable operating environment.
- Promotes outstanding customer relations. This includes email, telephone and personal interaction with customers visiting the bookkeeper’s office on a daily basis.
- Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team. Performs all other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive horsemen bookkeeping experience required. Incompass system experience preferred
- Knowledge of the horseracing industry required. Industry employment experience of 3 years preferred
- Established knowledge and capability to operate in Microsoft environment including Outlook and Excel,
- Position is full time seasonal.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, weekends and holidays as required
