What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Dispatcher position at Delaware Office of Animal Welfare?
The Office of Animal Welfare’s Delaware Animal Services Unit is seeking part-time communications dispatchers to join our team. Duties include: receiving and dispatching calls for service to DAS animal welfare officers; entering call data in computer aided dispatch system; monitoring two-way radio communications with officers; and providing information and referrals to callers regarding companion animals. Candidate should have strong customer service and administrative skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have the ability to multi-task. Previous experience or knowledge of pets or animal welfare a plus. Positions average 20-24 hours or 3-4 days per week, flexible schedule. Shifts are weekdays 8:30am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-9:30pm and weekends 9:30am-6:30pm.
ABOUT DAS
Delaware Animal Services (DAS) is the community service and enforcement unit of the Delaware Division of Public Health Office of Animal Welfare (OAW), enforcing dog control, animal cruelty and rabies control throughout the state. DAS works to ensure the health and safety of animals, people and the community.
