What will you do?
- Function as part of a coordinated EMS response under medical oversight while following departmental policies and objectives
- Perform patient assessments for illness or injury, prepare patients for transport, and transfer care information to receiving ambulance providers
- Deliver medical interventions using basic and advanced ambulance equipment as appropriate to the situation
- Maintain patient, environmental, and infection control safety standards during all phases of care
- Inspect emergency medical equipment to confirm readiness and compliance with safety and infection control requirements
- Complete, document, and transfer all patient care records, reports, and paperwork in compliance with state, federal, and HIPAA regulations
- Operate motorized vehicle when necessary
More about you
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid EMT-P certification from the New York State Department of Health is required
- Ability to be licensed by the New York State Lottery and New York State Racing and Wagering
- Complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation required
- Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test
