The ideal candidate leads through education, authentic engagement, and practical problem-solving—earning trust across all levels of the organization. You will help create a culture where employees not only understand safety but take ownership of their own well-being and that of their coworkers.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Implementation

  • Champion a culture of safety built on participation, trust, and shared ownership—not fear or enforcement alone.
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence on the shop floor to build relationships and reinforce safety as a core value.
  • Train and empower supervisors and lead technicians to take ownership of daily safety responsibilities.
  • Facilitate safety committees, toolbox talks, and participatory engagement initiatives.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and other applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for OSHA, insurance carriers, and workers’ compensation matters.
  • Oversee OSHA 300/301/300A logs and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
  • Partner with HR on workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and ADA accommodations.

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead thorough, root-cause investigations of incidents, near-misses, and property damage events.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Track and analyze leading and lagging safety indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify and share best practices across departments and locations; celebrate safety achievements.

Leadership

  • Serve as Emergency Response Site Lead.
  • Act as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team.
