What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Casting Supervisor - 2nd shift position at Delaware Dynamics LLC?
Delaware Dynamics has been producing very large die cast molds and tooling for the automotive and aerospace industries for over 75 years in Muncie, Indiana. Over the past five years, we have also grown our High-Pressure Aluminum Die Casting business from the ground up - to over 8M annually.
As we continue to grow our business, we need to grow our team. We are currently seeking a die casting professional to join our team to lead our 2nd shift operations (4PM - 12:30AM), reporting directly to the Die Cast Manager, and working with our seasoned team to operate both a 2000 ton and 3500 ton Prince machines.
Responsibilities
- Manage and assist as a working supervisor a small team of operators during the operation of die casting machine, ensuring employee safety, and efficient operation.
- Assist with installation, set up, operation, and maintenance of die cast equipment, furnaces, trim, robot, cranes, various tool room equipment, tow motors, hand tools, fabrication tools, and others as assigned.
- Participate in die casting operations, sampling and production to meet customer requirements.
- Assist in development of new technologies.
- Set dies, die maintenance, additional shop duties.
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operations.
Qualifications
- 2 or more years high pressure die cast experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of die cast processes.
- Working knowledge of die cast equipment, furnaces, molten metal management.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and various technical personnel.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, shop processes.
- Basic knowledge of die setting techniques, rigging.
- Ability to train, and instruct team members as applicable.
- “Hands-on”, goal oriented, self starter, capable of working with minimum supervision.
- Safety conscious.
