Election Support Specialist (Democratic)

Objectives

The primary responsibilities of this position are maintaining voter records, assisting the public, election preparation, and logistics. Specifically, we are looking for a passionate and reliable person to be a part of our team. A strong work ethic and a great attitude are critical to this position, but other prerequisites exist as well.

Job Standards

Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on county business as a continued condition of employment.

Essential Functions

• At a minimum, a successful candidate must:
  • Be affiliated with the Democratic Party;
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED;
  • Have the ability to learn quickly (and at times on their own);
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively;
  • Have the ability to deliver exceptional customer service to the public;
  • Possess strong organizational skills;
  • Have the ability to multi-task effectively;
  • Be exceptionally detail-orientated;
  • Be able to follow directions;
  • Be able to work both independently and as a team player;
  • Have the ability to adapt to change;
  • Have knowledge of computers and office-related equipment;
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
  • Be able to assist the public with information within the scope of the Board of Elections’ jurisdiction;
  • Be familiar with the Delaware County area (or willing to become familiar with it quickly);
  • Be able to adapt and perform in stressful situations;
  • Must be able to endure long hours when needed;
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Duties as assigned by management; and
  • Have a great attitude!

Supplemental Information

Position type: full-time, 40 hours per week, non-bargaining unit, unclassified
Typical work schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; Mandatory over-time during election cycle (including some weekends)
FLSA: hourly, non-exempt
Starting pay rate: $22.60 per hour
