What are the responsibilities and job description for the CTE - Paraprofessional position at Delaware County Intermediate Unit?
The job of Paraprofessional was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of students in the regular classroom in the classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel.
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma
- Must acquire status as a Highly Qualified Paraprofessional
- Participation, successful completion, and passing required professional development events, in-services, and trainings
- Experience with young adults
- Flexible and reliable
- Ability to work effectively and regularly with a computer
- Must have adequate verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to function under the direction of the teacher
- Possess good judgment
- Ability to establish rapport with students
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with program staff
- Reliable means of transportation
