Delaware County Community College (DCCC), designated Top Workplace by The Philadelphia Inquirer, is looking for a experienced, dynamic Vice President for Finance & Administration/Treasurer to join our team of diverse higher education professionals who are committed to student success.
The Vice President of Finance and Administration/Treasurer (VPFA) serves as the institution’s Chief Financial Officer and is a key member of the executive leadership team, and chief advisor to the President on all matters related to the management and oversight of business and financial affairs of the College. The VPFA will exercise executive and administrative direction over the College’s financial and operational programs to include the planning, development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of all business and fiscal policies and programs. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of sound and student-oriented business and fiscal policies, negotiating and administering union contract, and skillful and entrepreneurial leadership of budget development, finance, accounting, information technology, procurement, and facility services.
Candidates interested in this outstanding position must be a dynamic leader who is strategic, innovative, and collaborative. The successful candidate must be able to efficiently demonstrate the use of best practices associated with a strong, comprehensive knowledge and experience of general accounting practices (GAAP) to support the College’s strategic initiatives of retention and completion. In addition, the VPFA will have a demonstrated ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thoughts and perspectives of all students of various backgrounds; in an effort to promote and foster an all-inclusive environment while driving results.
Qualifications (including, but not limited to):
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial management leadership experience of accounting related activities in a professional setting; higher education, non-profit, or public accounting preferred; experience with grant administration, reporting, and compliance is preferred.
· A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance or a related field of study is required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
· Understanding of sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
· Ability to use available data to strengthen financial controls and risk management practice improvements.
· Proven experience in leading strategic initiatives that resulted in increased financial stability for the College.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated success in communicating ideas and goals to influence and inform individuals and groups.
· Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by compassionate, courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interactions with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders; and
· Ability to manage the execution and completion of complex strategic goals and objectives.
