Supervisor, Metals Maintenance JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervision, development and performance management of craft personnel. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with other work groups in the refinery to ensure safe and efficient completion of maintenance activities. Supervise and direct the execution of maintenance work of multi-craft workers according to established plans/schedules. Attend daily and weekly scheduling meetings to ensure all issues are communicated for overall maintenance efficiency. Assure that resources such as: materials, tools and equipment are available to personnel to allow for completion of assigned work. Seek opportunities to raise productivity of craft workers through various means such as multi-crafting or specialized skills. Identify and effectively communicate performance expectations to personnel. Lead safety discussions and demonstrate leadership behavior that reinforce3s company safety policies. Identify gaps in training and proactively develop plans to address those gaps, either by training or procedures. Support and work with the Planners to maximize the value of the planning and scheduling process. Report on contractor activities to the Area Business Teams and maintenance management as required. Respond to plant related emergencies. Responsible for making required manpower resources available so that the work is executed as planned. Ensure that the work plan is followed or negotiate and agree upon any alternative courses of action with the maintenance planner. Responsible for employee safety, productivity and quality of work on the job site. Control the costs associated with the work and strive to reduce these costs where practical. Handle all administrative, labor relations and personnel issues in a timely manner. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years’ experience in refinery/petrochemical industry as a maintenance craftsperson Technical or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience Hard trades experience Must have supervisory experience in a union environment Familiarity with industry process safety and environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, refining economics and basic budgeting and scheduling.
