Delavan Holdings is hiring an HR Generalist to support a 2,000 employee, multi-state operation. This role is heavily focused on employee relations, workplace investigations, and advising leaders through complex situations.
This is not a plug-and-play HR environment. We are actively building and standardizing processes across a growing organization. You'll have the opportunity to shape how HR operates, not just follow a playbook.
If you're comfortable working through ambiguity, influencing leaders, and putting structure in place where it doesn't yet exist-this role will fit.
What You'll Do
Employee Relations & Investigations (Core Focus)- Own employee relations cases from intake through resolution
- Conduct workplace investigations (policy violations, performance issues, complaints)
- Coach leaders through discipline, documentation, and difficult conversations
- Ensure consistent application of policies and employment law
- Identify gaps and help create scalable HR processes and standards
- Bring structure to inconsistent practices across locations
- Partner with HR leadership to improve compliance, documentation, and workflows
- Support promotions, transfers, and career pathing
- Partner with leaders to retain top talent and reduce turnover
- Manage employee separations and exit interviews
- Analyze trends and provide actionable recommendations
- Support performance management and PIPs
- Assist in identifying high-potential employees and succession opportunities
- Facilitate new hire orientation
- Partner with TA and onboarding teams to improve early employee experience
Requirements
- 3-5 years in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role
- Strong experience with employee relations and workplace investigations
- Ability to operate independently and make sound judgment calls
- Comfortable working in a growing, evolving environment without rigid structure
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
- Experience supporting multi-location or decentralized teams
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paylocity a plus)
- Ability to work onsite in Delavan, WI with up to 10% travel
